On the city centre (the Ramblas) Hotel 1898 is another of our favorite hotel in Barcelona. 1898 was known as the Palace of the Marquess of Comillas. From this glorious past it kept a rich historical atmosphere and harmony. We love its sunny terrace with pool, large rooms, a restaurant by chef Carles Boronat, a beautiful spa. No hesitation..
Plaza Catalunya is just 200 metres from 1898 Hotel. Guests can also walk to the Gothic Quarter with its cathedral in 10 minutes.169 Rooms!

We had an incredible stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone.
My family and I had an amazing stay at Hotel 1898. We could feel a unique atmosphere full of culture and history from the very first step into the hotel. Each room had beautiful views, perfectly decorated interior, and all the amenities for a very high-end and luxurious experience. We appreciated the mini bar in our room and the snacks, drinks, and food served in all the lounges and pools, indoor and outdoor. What made the stay even better was the wonderful staff - so friendly and always willing to assist. The Tea Time was really delicious as well. We had a great time, and we certainly recommend this hotel to all visitors of Barcelona.
The hotel is perfectly located and we were able to walk or take water taxis to all the sights. The food was outstanding and the bar staff were super friendly and informative. I can honestly say I had one of the best experiences I've ever had in a hotel!
My experience with Hotel 1898 was wonderful. From the moment I arrived, I was made to feel welcome. Carolina was helpful and accommodating, booking us into the spa and giving us tips about getting around the city. Federico and Eyder were incredibly knowledgeable about the local area, guiding us to places we never would have seen without them. Not to mention the great location, being able to walk or take water taxis around the city! The food was delicious and the bar staff were super friendly and informative. All in all, I had a brilliant time and it was one of the best experiences I've ever had in a hotel!
