Hotel 1898

We recently visited Barcelona for the fourth time in 10 years and stayed at a fantastic hotel. It couldn't have been better located, just off La Rambla and only a 5 minute walk from Placa de Catalunya. The quality of the decor and finishes in the public and private areas were outstanding, and the staff were so friendly and helpful ?. The buffet breakfast had so much variety and was always being replenished so quickly ?. Our room was kept in perfect condition, spotlessly clean ✨, and we even got an upgrade to a superior room as a bonus ?! We didn't get a chance to use the Spa, Gym or Swimming Pool, but the roof terrace was a great spot for a bite to eat and a drink ?. If you're looking for a quality hotel when visiting Barcelona, we can't recommend this one enough ?!

We had a wonderful 5-night stay at this hotel. The employees were hospitable and could communicate in English apart from my novice Spanish. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast was scrumptious and featured a vast choice of food. The spa and terrace are amazing amenities of this hotel - clean and having helpful personnel, they certainly contributed to our pleasure. Furthermore, the bar prices took into account the place's location and luxury, being extremely reasonable. We would highly recommend it.

We stayed in Barcelona for 4 nights to celebrate a special birthday, so we wanted a hotel that was something truly special. The first 2 nights were spent at a large hotel, but our second two were a real treat. I'm so glad that we chose this place, as it was simply breathtaking. Everywhere you looked oozed sophistication and luxury, from the beautiful room and terrace, to the exquisite toiletries in the bathroom. The breakfast was a magnificent feast, and it was clear to see that no detail was left unattended to. The staff were also incredibly attentive, couldn't do enough for us, and all of the areas were impeccably clean. And on the actual birthday, we were treated to cava and cake in the room - it was a truly wonderful touch that made the stay even more special. We had no time to use the spa, but we'll make sure to do that in the future - we plan on returning next year! This is honestly one of the most impressive hotels I've ever stayed at, and I'd highly recommend it to others.

This accommodation is in a great spot to explore the surrounding area - plenty of interesting shops and eateries. If you're planning to take a hop on off bus tour, it's in walking distance. There are great coffee shops nearby too. The hotel breakfast is very nice, with a great selection of items. The rooms are comfortable and clean, but you should be prepared with an adapter if you need USB ports. There's an awesome rooftop pool with a great view of the city. I've stayed here twice and highly recommend it.

We had an absolutely phenomenal stay from beginning to end. As soon as we entered the hotel, we were met with a low-lit, calming atmosphere - just what we needed after a long day of travelling. The staff were so friendly and helpful - even though our room wasn't ready upon our arrival, they kindly offered to take our luggage so that we could go and explore the city. After going back and collecting our key, we made our way up to the room. We had opted for a room with a balcony and it was definitely worth it! The weather was perfect and we got to enjoy the sounds of the city and some superb views. Not long after, we visited the spa and it was spotlessly clean and incredibly relaxing - the staff in the spa area were incredibly friendly too. Our room was incredibly spacious, with lots of storage and plenty of snacks and drinks available if we needed something. The bed was possibly the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in, and the temperature of the room was just perfect - neither too hot nor too cold. On the day of our checkout, our flight wasn't until later on in the evening. We were worried about lugging our bags around with us all day, but the hotel kindly allowed us to leave our bags there, even after we had checked out, making our final day in the city a much more enjoyable experience. We honestly cannot say enough good things about this place - it was such a brilliant stay.
