This was our first time in Barcelona and we stayed one night before our cruise. The location was fantastic, with plenty of shopping just a short distance away. It was very convenient for getting to the airport and port. We arrived at 8:30 am and our room was available, which was great considering we had just been on an 8 1/2 hour flight. Our room was spotless and had plenty of space. The staff went the extra mile to make sure we had a comfortable stay. We really enjoyed our time here.
This 5 Star Standard accommodation and its efficient staff provided some great hospitality during my stay. The neighbourhood was safe and welcoming, making it easy to explore the city during my weeklong visit. Many thanks.
Arrivall was veery accomodating and lovley custumer servise. Roomes were nice and moder and cleen. Beds were exeptional, suche great pillows and duvit and a veery comfertable sleep. Especiallie with the black out bliends/curtains. Houskeepering was sloow but that’s the only thingg I can faul.
I was impressed as soon as I walked into my room, but that was quickly replaced with dismay when I discovered French fries on the floor, clumps of hair in the shower, and food crumbs underneath the pillow. Needless to say, I was thoroughly disappointed!
The service at the Hotel SOFIA Barcelona, in The Unbound Collection by Hyatt was far and away the worst I have ever experienced. My boyfriend and I stayed there for two nights last week and we are thankful it wasn't any longer. When we tried to call reception, twice with an hour gap between the calls, on the day of our arrival, nobody answered either time. When we got to the hotel at midnight, we had been allocated a room that was different to the one we'd booked on their website, without any notice. When we voiced our confusion, the staff just said we should be grateful they'd upgraded us! However, the made-over room was not even finished - the decor did not match the room description at all. And to top it off, the staff seemed to think that since my boyfriend and I are doctors in the UK, we should be able to just pay for a bigger room if we wanted one! It was embarrassing to have to explain ourselves like that. Although they were accommodating and switched us back to the room we originally booked, we were looking for some compensation for the hassle. My boyfriend complained to reception and all they gave him were two wine vouchers. At breakfast, a waiter motioned for us to take a table on a terrace. After loaded up our plates, we sat down and then another waiter came over and aggressively told us to move as someone else had the table! No apology or anything. My boyfriend again complained at the reception and all they gave him was those two wine vouchers. When we ordered room service, it took them 45 minutes to bring it and when it did arrive, it was missing one of the gins that we had requested. When my boyfriend asked the waiter how he thought we would drink the gin without the tonic, he replied as if we had asked for two shots! Later, I decided to make a formal complaint via the hotel's complaints book. The next morning, we were supposed to meet with Christian, the manager, at 10am. But at 7:30am, someone had come to our room without even knocking! When we did meet with Christian and his superior, Raul, they agreed to give us one night free and one night of parking. However, when it came time to check out, they wanted to charge us for the room service and the parking, which I had already paid for. Five days later and I still haven't received a response from Christian after I sent the proof that I had already paid. As a Spaniard, I was expecting much more from the Hyatt brand. I absolutely would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone and I will question myself twice before ever booking a stay with a Hyatt hotel again.
