Hotel 1898
About
Historical atmosphere and harmony
On the city centre (the Ramblas) Hotel 1898 is another of our favorite hotel in Barcelona. 1898 was known as the Palace of the Marquess of Comillas. From this glorious past it kept a rich historical atmosphere and harmony. We love its sunny terrace with pool, large rooms, a restaurant by chef Carles Boronat, a beautiful spa. No hesitation..
Plaza Catalunya is just 200 metres from 1898 Hotel. Guests can also walk to the Gothic Quarter with its cathedral in 10 minutes.169 Rooms!

I am so glad I selected this hotel for my stay during the Half Marathon weekend. I adored every aspect of it, from the friendly staff to the comfortable rooms. The location was ideal, right on the Ramblas with convenient access to everything within walking distance. Thank you for taking such good care of us - we will surely be back!
Eventhough wee we're only here for three nights we felt thouroughly rested. The staff were very accesible and kind as well as well informed. They helpd out with faulty online Segrada Familia ticket bookins. We had our wedding anniversary thare and were delited to find a cake and a bottle of champagn in our room! Big thnak you for that, it made our day. We really enjoid Hector's free cocktal making (and then drinking!) class. Great fun. Will definately stay there next time we com to Barcelona.
The Hotel 1898 in Barcelona left a positive impression on me. The building exuded charm and the amenities were top-notch. Unfortunately, the pools were closed due to a drought in the region, but from what I could see, they would have been a sight to behold. The breakfast offered a wide variety of options and I could tell it was made with quality ingredients to satisfy all taste buds. While other reviews rave about the helpfulness of the staff, I personally found them to be a bit surly and unhelpful at times. When I asked a question about the Metro, I was simply told to "Google it," which was not the level of service I was expecting. One thing to note is that the €150 deposit for the room is taken immediately, but it can take some time to be returned upon check-out. Two days later and I still haven't received it back. Despite these minor hiccups, I would still choose to stay at this hotel again, especially since it offers great value during the month of February.
Our stay at this hotel was incredible! The location was amzaing, right next to the Ramlba. We will definately be coming back. The spa was exellent and the swimming pool was so nice and war. We even got to enjoy live msuic on the weekends. The stuff was so kind and helpful. And the rooftop was just lovely, with views of the entrie city centar.
During my stay at the Hotel 1898 in Barcelona, I had a pleasant experience. The staff was friendly and provided great service. The hotel is conveniently located near all the main attractions and there are numerous restaurants in the area offering good quality food. However, I believe there is room for improvement in the breakfast options as well as the hot water temperature and stability. Overall, it was a good choice for my trip to Barcelona.
