Wonderful Wonderful Wonderful!! We chose this hotel for our 4 night trip and it was the best decision we could have made. The rooms were impeccably designed, squeaky clean, and plenty of space to spare. Its location was close to all the attractions and we had the beach just footsteps away! The restaurants were amazing and the buffet breakfast was simply divine. The staff provided amazing service and all the luxuries the room and poolside had to offer were delightful. We'd definitely return to this hotel again!
I had high hopes for Hotel Arts Barcelona during my 15-day Spain vacation, but I was confronted with blatant racial bias that completely tarnished my experience. My husband, our two-year-old daughter, and I stayed at the hotel for two days; on the night of July 1st, we went out for takeout and returned to the hotel by foot around 10pm. Much to our surprise, the security guard stopped us and demanded to see our identification cards—despite the fact that there was another family (who were white) that was only asked if they were staying there. When I asked if everyone was being asked the same questions he said he didn't know English. I then spoke to the security official in the concierge, who made it clear that this was their usual security process. She was unapologetic and I felt that she was not taking my concerns seriously. This hotel demonstrated how much they value guests by sharing the racial bias of their staff. I wouldn't recommend this hotel, especially for people with children, and I definitely won't stay here again. This outright discrimination was highly concerning and offensive to me.
We had a priceless experience in Barecelona thanks to the outstanding service provided by the staff. Special thanks to the Butlers at the Penthouses esp. Estefania and Emer, the staff at the Lokal esp. hostesses Flor and Ehnge, the staff at Marina Coastal Food esp. Antonio, the staff at the Infinity Pool, the staff at Enoteca esp. Jose, the staff at P41 Bar, the staff at 43 The Spa and last but not least our Housekeepers. We look forward to staying in the Penthouse again and extend our peace and best wishes to all the staff of the establishment.
We are still currently staying at a five star hotel but it has been a huge disappointment. We initially asked for connecting rooms or those on the same floor and were given two rooms eight floors apart. Considering this a suite on the same floor was offered but it was just a standard double. Despite polite complaints there seemed to be no follow up. The check-in process was incredibly disorganised and long. Room service takes too long and despite calling for a clear up the trays remain overnight. Dialling room service or reception results in a busy signal and the hotel being 'at full capacity'. Even when drinking bottled water by the pool, you're charged €14 for three small bottles. Our room keys stopped working and for my son to get a new one, my husband had to come downstairs with ID even though they already had the passports and ID loaded up. After mentioning this to the front desk, service seemed to improve, however it felt too late. We will sadly be staying elsewhere on our next trip to Barcelona. Avoid.
We stayed on a club floor and the room was huge with a wonderful view. The bathroom amenities were adequate and modern fittings. The shower was great. The pools, although not heated, were really nice and the pool service was terrific. The restaurant was also very good. There was no beach set up or service, but there was a great gym. All of the food we had in the club room was delicious and desserts were some of our favorites of the trip. We enjoyed being near the Barceloneta for walking and views. This wasn't particularly convenient for Gaudi touring if you want to walk, but they did have a shuttle that drops you off at a central location. Our only complaint was with the concierge in the club room. We arrived before noon and were told the check in time was 3pm, but they would try and get us a room earlier. We changed in the nearby bathroom, had a bite to eat, and were sent to the pool floor without a key. At 3pm we had still not heard from them, so a very congenial restaurant manager had to reach out to management to get us a room. Even when we stopped into the club room around 4pm, we received a call that our room was ready. We wanted to break down larger euro bills and were told we would have to wait, but never received a call. When trying to check out, there was only one person at the desk and she was busy helping other guests make a tour reservation. We ended up being out of time and settling with getting an email receipt. On our way to the transport to the airport, we stopped at the main check in/out desk in the lobby and checked out and got change all within 3 minutes. The concierge service on the club floor was unfortunately quite useless.
