I enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great hotel in Barcelona.
My second stay at the Hotel Barcelona Universal was just as pleasant as the first. From the helpful staff to the convenient location, close to public transportation and eateries, it's the perfect place to stay. Everywhere, from the lobby to the room, was kept immaculate, and the comfort and amenities made the stay more than worth it. I was especially impressed by the gorgeous rooftop, affording 360-degree views of the city landscape. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel, and I'm sure I'll return!
We spent three nights at the Barcelona Universal Hotel, two couples, and had a wonderful experience. On arrival, we were greeted by the friendly staff even though we arrived 30 minutes before check-in time. They made sure we were comfortable and offered us a complimentary glass of wine in the Wolf Restaurant while they attended to our luggage. Our rooms were impeccably clean and quite modern. The breakfast buffet had a wide selection of items, all of which were delicious. The service was top-notch as well. We did have some difficulties connecting to the wifi, but after a quick call to the front desk, we were able to resolve the issue and enjoyed uninterrupted access throughout our stay. All-in-all, we had an excellent vacation and highly recommend this hotel.
The staff at Hotel Barcelona Universal were amazing - they couldn't do enough for us and Mercer on reception was especially helpful. The hotel was in a great location, the breakfast was excellent and the rooftop was a great bonus. The wifi was reliable and the rooms were spotless. You don't get the views from here as you're smack in the middle of a city, but we still really enjoyed our stay and it was made that much better by the wonderful staff.

I recently travelled to Hotel Barcelona Universal and had an absolutely wonderful stay! The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, plus we were given a complimentary room upgrade when we checked in! The room was very spacious and the bed was huge and super comfortable. The bathroom was also spotless. Even though our room was overlooking the main road it was still quite peaceful. The hotel was in an ideal location with La Rambla just a 10-15 minute walk away and good public transport connections. Although, for our night time outings, we still opted for a taxi as some of the alleys nearby were quite dark! We visited for a FC Barcelona match and the atmosphere was great - definitely a night to remember! The check-out process was also very swift. I would definitely recommend this hotel, the staff were amazing, the location was fantastic and the room was even better than I had anticipated. I would love to come back and stay here once again!
We had a great time at the Hotel Barcelona Universal. It was in a great location with the metro stop outside, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was really good and the set menu we chose for dinner was delicious and great value. The room was clean and comfortable, but we should have asked for an inner room as the traffic outside was quite noisy. The views from the terrace were absolutely stunning though! We'd definitely stay here again.
